Cleveland Clinic Martin Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Intensivist team. The APP will provide high-quality, evidence-based inpatient care in collaboration with hospitalists, specialists, surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team. APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to an APRN protocol and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems.

PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions within the collaboration agreement of a Physician, as per regulatory requirements. Performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PAs in the Hospital care role provide outpatient and/or hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Outpatient/Hospital care PAs practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems.

Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for acutely ill adult patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and initiate appropriate therapies.
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families regarding patient status, and treatment plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational activities.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage time effectively and respond to emergencies in a calm, competent manner.
• Perform Critical Care Procedures

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of FL.
• Certification by AANP, ANCC (for NPs), or NCCPA (for PAs). If APRN, must have AGACNP or ACNP certification.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience in inpatient/hospital medicine preferred, but new graduates with very strong clinical backgrounds will be considered.

• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and procedural skills.

• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
