Submission Requirements: Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years Individual unit requirements listed in pulse apply. Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email We are only permitted to submit 2 candidates per opening, if the position is at max, we will hold on to the submission if a spot opens up *ALL SUBMITTALS MUST INCLUDE A UNEXPIRED COPY OF THE CANDIDATES DRIVES LICENSE* Unit 10 Southeast Heart & Vascular Institute # of beds 32 Beds (all private) 22 Stepdown & 12 Floor Ratios Stepdown ratio: 1 RN: 3 Patients/Floor ratio: 1 RN: 6 patients Required certifications BLS and ACLS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Cardiac Surgery Post op patients: CABG, mid cabs, maze, valve replacements, tendyne, mitral clip LVAD, heart transplants, TAVRs; complex cardiac surgery cases Vascular Surgery Post op/procedures: AAA repair, CEA, femoral bypass, angiograms, & amputations Cardiology: STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure, watchman, Cardiac Cath procedures: PTCA, stents, ICDs, ablations, pacemakers Experience or 'Must have' skills Cardiac/vascular experience Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, dobutamine, Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Unit Charge Nurse and House Supervisors 24/7 Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes, 1 Clinical Associate : 8-10 patients each (goal of 4-5 CAs 24/7) RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Cpap, Bipap, Hi-flow Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes, CMTs are housed on this unit and interpret all strips Shifts & Scheduling Nights, three 12 hour shifts Weekend Requirement Every other weekend Holiday Requirement Yes Is there a call or standby requirement? No, however OT is available Floating Requirements Yes- to sister units in Heart and Vascular Institute Scrub Color/Dress Code Solid Royal Blue and white Unit/Department specific orientation Yes, 2-3 shifts of orientation Additional Notes Unit noted for excellent and quality care to patients in a thriving teamwork atmosphere
