Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionReporting to the Accounting Coordinator, this position prepares financial reports and performs accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.Qualifications: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an accounting emphasis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. One to two years of accounting experience or an internship is preferred. Starting wage is $25 / hour.

Key Responsibilities:Financial Analysis & ReportingPrepare financial and business-related analysis, including department variance and profitability reports.Generate accurate internal and external financial reports as required.Aid in preparing quarterly board reports for various programs.Monitor Aged Accounts Receivables to ensure timely cash flow and payments.Core Accounting OperationsManage Accounts Receivable: generate invoices, record payments, and utilize various billing systems.Process billing for various funding streams and programs.Reconcile payments, record deposits, and perform other tasks in Blackbaud accounting software.Monitor and maintain customer accounts for tax exemptions and update as necessary.Compliance & Audit ManagementAssist Accounting Coordinator and Director of Business Operations with annual audits as required.Prepare documentation for agency, program, and grant-specific audits.Benefits:Health, HRA, Vision, Dental InsuranceLife InsuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityDefined Pension PlanOptional 403(b)Supplemental Insurance (AFLAC)Generous PTO - Paid Time Off11 Paid HolidaysBCRC provides life-changing opportunities for people with disabilities to grow and thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment.
