We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a closely held business in Pennsylvania in a Contract to permanent capacity. This opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment, managing a wide range of day-to-day financial activities, and contributing wherever needed. Responsibilities:
• Manage customer collections by following up on outstanding balances, resolving payment issues, and helping maintain healthy cash flow.
• Prepare and record journal entries accurately to support timely and reliable month-end and day-to-day accounting activity.
• Oversee billing functions, including invoice generation, review, and issue resolution to ensure accurate customer charges.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and supporting overall financial accuracy.
• Assist with corporate tax-related activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.
• Handle sales tax processes by reviewing taxable transactions, preparing filings, and helping ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Contribute across multiple accounting operations as needed, providing flexible support in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role with responsibility for core transactional and general ledger functions.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Background in collections and billing with the ability to communicate professionally and follow through consistently.
• Familiarity with corporate tax and sales tax processes, including support for filings and related documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a direct, fast-moving environment and remain composed when handling challenges.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
