Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Handyman:

• Perform daily repairs and general maintenance to ensure the property is safe, functional, and well maintained
• Maintain the property grounds and assist the Groundskeeper with landscaping and related tasks as needed
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy, including inspections, repairs, cleaning, and necessary improvements
• Troubleshoot and complete maintenance work orders within the scope of the Maintenance Technician role, and notify management when specialized vendors or contractors are required
• Maintain, inspect, and manage the inventory of all property and company-owned maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools
• Report any unusual, hazardous, or extraordinary conditions regarding the property, equipment, or residents to management promptly
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, including adherence to the property's uniform policy
• Keep all work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition
• Provide courteous, timely, and efficient service to residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members
• Comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and all company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and community guidelines
• Participate in training programs and pursue professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills
• Be available to work on an on-call basis and respond to maintenance emergencies as required
• Ensure maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment are properly secured at the end of each workday
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Property Manager or Supervisor that are consistent with the Maintenance Technician position

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Six to nine months of related maintenance experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required
• Proof of current automobile insurance required
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents, vendors, and team members
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to work with units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve routine maintenance issues using sound judgment
• Ability to work effectively in standardized situations involving several concrete variables
• Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle objects, and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, and communicate effectively through speaking and listening
• Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds or more with appropriate assistance and equipment
• Must possess visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Regularly works outdoors and is exposed to varying weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals, and electrical hazards
• May be required to work in confined spaces and around maintenance equipment and machinery
• Background check and Drug test required
