Accounting Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This role supports a variety of accounting and finance functions and offers exposure to multiple areas within the department. Responsibilities include assisting with financial projects, supporting daily and month-end accounting activities, serving as a backup for cash application processes, managing travel expense documentation, and collecting customer payments through online portals. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Retrieve, review, and electronically save credit card receipts for multiple managers. Perform additional credit card administration, maintenance, and support functions. Cross-train in Cash Application processes to provide backup support for the Cash Application Specialist. Enter invoices and collect customer payments through various online customer portals. Assist with customer account reconciliations and record account corrections as needed. Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and generating daily and monthly financial reports. Assist the Tax team with monthly tax filings and provide documentation for state audits as needed. Support the Accounts Payable team by vouchering invoices. Scan, file, and distribute Finance Department documents for banking and external audit purposes. Provide accounting support to other departments when additional assistance is needed to maintain financial records within company sub-systems. Distribute incoming mail to the appropriate individuals for daily processing. Assist with special projects and other Finance Department initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Strong data entry skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and document conversion. Ability to maintain organized filing systems and accurate financial records.
