Agency Intern-Future Agency OwnerWilliam Ashworth State Farm is looking for a driven, entrepreneurial individual to join our Lakeland agency. This opportunity is designed for someone who wants more than a traditional job and is interested in learning what it takes to successfully operate a State Farm agency in the future. The ideal candidate has long-term leadership goals, is motivated by performance, enjoys working with people, and wants hands-on exposure to sales, customer relationships, business development, and agency operations. For the right person, this role can provide valuable experience for someone interested in pursuing future opportunities such as the State Farm Aspirant Program or agency ownership.Future participation in any State Farm agency development or ownership program is not guaranteed and is subject to State Farm's qualifications, selection process, and available opportunities.As an Agency Intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in several areas of agency operations, including insurance sales and customer relationship management, prospecting and lead generation, conducting customer needs conversations and policy reviews, building and managing a sales pipeline, following up with prospective and existing customers, understanding agency production goals and performance metrics, customer retention and relationship development, marketing and community outreach, team communication and collaboration, business operations and workflow management, understanding how successful insurance agencies grow and remain profitable, and developing leadership, accountability, and business ownership skills.You'll connect with prospective customers through warm and outbound lead activity, build relationships with new and existing customers, ask questions to understand customer needs and identify potential insurance solutions, learn how to explain insurance products and coverage options clearly, assist with account reviews and customer follow-up, generate and follow up on leads, participate in sales conversations and develop confidence asking for the business, track activity and results while working toward measurable production goals, learn how customer retention, sales, service, and marketing work together to grow an agency, participate in coaching, training, and development with agency leadership, and gain exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities involved in operating a successful State Farm agency.This opportunity may be a strong fit for someone who has a long-term goal of owning or operating a business, is interested in potentially becoming a State Farm Agent in the future, is motivated by sales, leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional growth, enjoys building relationships and connecting with people, is comfortable being held accountable to measurable goals, is competitive and motivated by achievement, is willing to prospect and initiate conversations with potential customers, takes coaching well and actively looks for ways to improve, is dependable, organized, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities, has strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrates initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do, and wants to understand both the customer-facing and business sides of running an insurance agency.Previous insurance experience is helpful but not required. A background in sales, business, marketing, finance, hospitality, leadership, athletics, or another performance-driven environment can also translate well into this opportunity. Licensing Because insurance sales will be an important part of your development, candidates should be willing to obtain the appropriate insurance licenses required for the role. Licensing provides an opportunity to gain practical experience working directly with customers and developing the product knowledge necessary for long-term success in the insurance industry.We are looking for someone who wants to learn the business from the inside.
