Chamber Coordinator

Job Title

Membership & Business Services

Open and close Visitor's Center, kindly greet and professionally communicate with visitors

Communicate and manage yearly member dues, collect and record payments, and deposit them for the Treasurer

Assemble monthly agendas and reports for and attend Chamber Board meetings

Maintain records of all official meetings and keep Board communications saved in all correct and pertinent areas (electronic and physical)

Build relationships with local businesses and entrepreneurs

Operations & Administration

Manage day-to-day operations of the Chamber office

Maintain membership records, databases, and communications

Financial Management

Generate revenue through memberships, sponsorships, grants, and events

Maintain cost of Chamber events

Communicate Chamber bills and financials to Chamber Treasurer

Marketing & Communications

Promote the Chamber and Chamber Members through social media and website content

Manage calendar of events as submitted by Chamber Members

Develop and manage all aspects of annual Visitor's Guide including but not limited to member profiles on the website, member advertising, member directory

Create artwork for Chamber events and order event merchandise

Events & Programs

Ensure compliance with Explore MN Tourism, MN State Gambling Control Board, City of Hackensack, Cass County permits and licensing, etc.

Work with media regarding details of Chamber events and other events sponsored by the Chamber

Work with event committee, attend committee meetings, attend and assist with Chamber events. This will include some evenings and weekends.

Minimum Education Required

We are flexible with formal education beyond high school graduation.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational and project management abilities

Proficiency with office software, CRM systems, and social media platform

Work Environment

Office-based with community meetings and events

Occasional evenings and weekends required for Chamber events

Hours Worked

This position is part-time working in the Visitor's Center 12 hours per week. During periods of high workload, the Coordinator may work up to 40 hours per week. The Coordinator will be paid for time worked related to Board meetings, committee meetings, and Chamber events. If more than 40 hours of work is required, the Coordinator will first receive approval from the Chamber President and/or Treasurer.
