Principal Investigator (Assistant, Associate or Full Staff) - Heart, Blood, and Kidney Research

Overview The Department of Heart, Blood, and Kidney Research (formerly Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences) in Cleveland Clinic Research seeks investigators who use multidisciplinary approaches to determine the underlying causes of and develop new treatments for cardiovascular, kidney, and blood diseases. The department is expanding and enhancing research in the following areas: Cardio‑metabolism Vascular biology Atherosclerosis Thrombosis Arrhythmia Renal biology Heart failure Positions are available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff levels, equivalent to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, respectively. Physician‑scientists may receive joint appointments in clinical institutes as appropriate. Responsibilities Applicants will lead mechanistic investigations and systems research that include cellular, molecular, computational, animal model, and/or human clinical studies. Success will be measured by advancing the department’s research agenda through innovative, collaborative, and translational projects that leverage existing expertise and clinical infrastructure. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in mechanistic investigations and systems research involving cellular, molecular, computational, animal model, and/or human clinical studies. Track record of NIH‑funded research as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff investigator. Commitment to diversity and excellence within the academic community. Benefits Salary range based on AAMC benchmarks: $130,000 to $300,000, depending on rank and experience. Generous start‑up funds and ongoing operational support.
