Senior Screen Printing Manager

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Senior Screen-Printing Specialist & Production Manager on behalf of our client, a certified minority-owned company specializing in custom promotional branded products and retail fashion apparel.


This role is responsible for leading all aspects of custom apparel production operations, combining advanced technical screen-printing expertise with strong leadership and operational management capabilities. The Senior Screen-Printing Specialist & Production Manager will oversee production schedules, mentor production teams, ensure quality standards, collaborate with customer service and sales teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Key Responsibilities: Production Leadership & Oversight
  • Oversee day-to-day screen-printing operations to ensure high-quality production output
  • Manage production schedules, workflow optimization, and capacity planning
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards to minimize waste and production defects
  • Troubleshoot technical printing issues and develop solutions for complex production challenges
  • Monitor production metrics and prepare operational reports for leadership
Team Management & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop screen-printing technicians and production staff
  • Conduct training for team members on equipment, production techniques, and safety standards
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment
  • Set performance expectations and support employee development initiatives
  • Evaluate employee performance and identify growth opportunities
Technical Expertise
  • Execute high-quality screen printing on apparel including t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and specialty items
  • Utilize multiple printing techniques including plastisol, discharge, direct-to-garment, and specialty inks
  • Manage color matching, screen preparation, exposure, and registration processes
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements
  • Stay informed on industry trends, printing technologies, and process innovations
  • Assist with artwork preparation and collaborate with design teams as needed
Operations & Business Management
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to assess project feasibility and production timelines
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs
  • Monitor inventory levels of inks, supplies, garments, and production materials
  • Support cost control initiatives and profitability goals
  • Utilize production management systems to track workflow and operational efficiency
Collaboration with Sales & Customer Service
  • Communicate directly with Customer Service Representatives regarding project specifications and timelines
  • Address production concerns and ensure customer satisfaction with final products
  • Provide technical recommendations for custom and specialty projects
Requirements Include: Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional technical training in screen printing, production management, graphic arts, or related fields preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 12 years of hands-on screen-printing experience with high-color design production
  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory or production leadership experience
  • Experience managing production schedules, workflow, and quality assurance
  • Experience training and mentoring production teams
  • Experience working in custom apparel, promotional products, or fashion apparel production environments
Skills:
  • Advanced screen-printing and production troubleshooting skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with screen preparation, exposure, registration, and color matching
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage inventory, workflow, and production timelines
  • Proficiency with production management software and systems
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Creative Suite preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse and bilingual production team
Certifications:
  • OSHA or workplace safety certifications preferred but not required
  • Screen-printing or production management certifications are a plus
Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of screen-printing techniques, ink chemistry, and garment types
  • Understanding of production cost management and profitability principles
  • Knowledge of quality control and workplace safety standards
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
  • Understanding of custom apparel production processes and client specifications
