We are currently seeking an experienced Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) for a leading acute care hospital in Durango, Colorado. This opportunity is ideal for imaging professionals with strong General Ultrasound and OB/GYN experience who are passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Department: Radiology – Ultrasound
Shift: Days
Schedule: 40 Hours Guaranteed Per Week
Shift Length: 10 Hours
Shift Hours: Variable Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
On-Call Requirement: Yes
Call Schedule: 1–2 Nights Per Week and Every 3rd Weekend
Weekend Requirement: Yes (Call Coverage)
Holiday Requirement: As Needed
Floating: Not Required
EMR System: Epic

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Conduct General, OB/GYN, and Vascular ultrasound studies.
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures, biopsies, drain placements, and other interventional procedures.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during examinations.
• Review patient history and imaging requests to ensure appropriate study selection.
• Operate ultrasound equipment efficiently while maintaining image quality standards.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Participate in the department’s on-call rotation and provide emergency imaging coverage when required.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years of Recent Sonography Experience
• Current BLS Certification (AHA)
• Current ARDMS Certification
• RDMS Certification (General or OB/GYN Required)
• RVT Certification Preferred
• RDCS Certification Considered a Plus
• Strong General Ultrasound Experience Required
• Strong OB/GYN Ultrasound Experience Required
• Vascular Ultrasound Experience Preferred
• Experience with Ultrasound-Guided Procedures Required
• Acute Care Hospital Experience Preferred
