Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Cardiac Telemetry) – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available; Contract lengths from 13-26 weeks; Weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week period); Float required as needed; No call required; Nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6

Highlights:

• Specialized cardiac telemetry unit treating complex cardiovascular conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and various valve disorders
• Comprehensive post-procedural care including CABG, valve replacements (AVR, MVR), TAVR, LAAO (Watchman), and cardiac catheterization
• Electronic Medical Records system: Epic; Medication management via Pyxis; SBAR communication protocols
• 24-hour orientation period with comprehensive onboarding; Daily census of approximately 41 patients in a 44-bed unit
• Multidisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Experience with advanced equipment including arterial lines, EKG, femoral sheaths, chest tubes, and epicardial pacing wires

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or Compact State license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/Step-down experience preferred
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac drips, sheath management and removal, and post-cardiac procedure care
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to work holidays and serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events as needed
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off during contract period
