About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Cardiac Telemetry – North Carolina

Start Date: November 23, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available; contract lengths range from 13-26 weeks; weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week period); floating required as needed; holidays required

Highlights:

• Comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit with 44 beds and daily census of 41 patients
• Diverse patient population including post-cardiac surgery, post-catheterization, and complex cardiac conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with full interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and respiratory services
• Experience with advanced cardiac procedures including TAVR, Watchman, CABG, valve replacements, and electrophysiology
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Opportunity to work with specialized equipment including arterial lines, femoral sheaths, chest tubes, and epicardial pacing wires

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/Step-down experience strongly preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Availability for interview required prior to offer
• Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters

Clinical Expertise:

This position provides care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, valvular disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, and carotid stenosis. You will manage patients post-cardiac catheterization, post-cardioversion, following electrophysiology procedures, and after cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical interventions including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, carotid endarterectomy, and bypass procedures.
