Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week. 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (every other weekend). Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available. Floating required as needed; potential to float every shift based on unit needs.

Highlights:

• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 42-bed cardiac telemetry and progressive care unit
• Care for cardiac patients including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac catheterization cases
• Epic EMR with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved (holiday restrictions apply)

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry AND PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Demonstrated competency in interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote cardiac monitoring
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care, cardiac surgery patients, and sheath removal
• Proficiency in blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, port access
• Experience titrating cardiac drips including Diltiazem and Amiodarone
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Charge experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
