Dishwasher Position Profile

Overview: Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining clean and efficient kitchen and restaurant environments. They wash dishes, glassware, and kitchen utensils & equipment, and ensure they’re stored properly. They also keep shared restaurant spaces clean and organized. Dishwashers may be invited and trained to assist the prep team with prep tasks as part of their daily tasks. Dishwashers must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced

Takes Direction From: BOH and FOH leadership team; Manager on Duty or shift supervisor

Related Qualifications

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry items up to 40lbs, perform repetitive tasks, and work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Organizing

Ensure smallwares, cooking utensils and equipment, and spaces are prepared for operations

• Dishwashing: clean and sanitize dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment using commercial dishwasher or by hand

• Organizing: sort and store clean items in designated areas, ensuring they are easily accessible

• Prep assistance: help with prep tasks as invited and trained

• General maintenance: keep dish, kitchen, dining room, and shared employee areas clean by sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, or other cleaning as necessary or directed by MOD

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemicals used in all cleaning tasks; consistently follow instructions and best practices for use

• Practice safety techniques when using or cleaning knives or other sharp objects to prepare food; appropriately clean and operate only kitchen equipment you are trained to use
