Construction Site Supervisor

We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill the position of Construction Site Supervisor with Canam. This role requires travelling throughout the Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic regions of USA. As a member of our team, your responsibilities include: Coordinate with plant coordinators (steel delivery, steel deck, joists, hardware), steel erectors (daily requests), and project managers. Attend field meeting with other trades and summarize to the project manager. Coordinate with the detailing/engineering department – field works, revision of drawings, clarifications (missing details). Accept erection drawings (follow-up on acceptance dates). Follow-up with transportation for delivery issues. Reception of materials and hardware (validate all delivery slips). Daily site report (daily log – plan grid). Assist the steel erector in repair requests (field work and deficiencies). Quality control, visual only. Assist health and safety coordinators. Attend and participate in, on and off‑site meetings; including, but not limited to, health and safety meetings. Update daily site progress in Smartsheet. Monitor schedules and update on a daily basis. Communicate with various stakeholders and the general contractor. Manage on‑site record‑keeping, including but not limited to, daily site specific hazard assessments. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess: Construction trade journeyman certificate or diploma. Three (3) to five (5) years of construction site supervision experience. Ability to read structural shop drawings, layouts and erection drawings is a must. Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities. An autonomous results‑oriented aptitude, with the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities. Knowledge and understanding of construction schedules and Gantt charts. Exceptional organizational abilities. English communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency in computer system and software (Google Workspace). Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) Ability to apply innovative and effective supervision and management techniques to maximize sub‑trade performance.
