SQL Server DBA – Key Responsibilities & Experience (10+ Years)Extensive SQL Server Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator managing large-scale enterprise environments.Data Center Migration: Proven expertise in migrating databases from one data center to another, ensuring zero/minimal downtime and full data integrity.High Availability Solutions: Strong knowledge and implementation experience with Always On Availability Groups, SQL Server Replication, and Log Shipping for disaster recovery and high availability.Performance Tuning & Optimization: Skilled in monitoring and tuning database performance using native tools (Profiler, DMVs, Query Store) and third-party utilities.Functional DBA Role: Ability to work as a functional DBA, supporting development, QA, and production environments, including managing deployments and change controls.Agile Collaboration: Experience working closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams across multiple business units.Large-scale Application Support: Responsible for supporting 1,400+ applications dependent on SQL Server databases, with a focus on planning and executing seamless migrations.Automation & Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell and T-SQL scripting for automation of DBA tasks, deployments, and monitoring.Security & Compliance: Hands-on experience implementing database-level security, audits, and compliance practices (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).Incident Management & On-Call: Participated in 24x7 on-call rotation, handling critical incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
