Duties and Responsibilities of a Batch Plant Operator

The Batch Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the concrete batch plant in our climate-controlled facility. The Batch Plant Operator will weigh and mix concrete materials and will handle material and operate equipment in order to load, batch, and test concrete products to meet plan specifications.

In addition to the operation of the batch plant, the Batch Plant Operator is responsible for essential housekeeping and the maintenance and repair of the plant and surrounding workspace to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications:

• Less than a high school education is acceptable with GED; or up to one-month work related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must exhibit adequate communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Must have visual abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust visual focus.
• Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and steel toe boots, etc.

Safety Sensitive Position:

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
