Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy & Long-Term CareValence Care, a family of healthcare companies, is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our team at Prime Care Pharmacy in Brooklyn. This is a part-time, temporary position expected to last approximately six months, with the potential for continued or expanded opportunities as our business grows. This position combines retail pharmacy and long-term care (LTC) responsibilities, with a focus on medication safety, accuracy, and quality patient care.What You'll DoReview, interpret, and verify prescription orders for accuracy, appropriate dosing, drug interactions, contraindications, and other potential safety concerns.Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with New York State and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies.Provide professional pharmacy services and medication counseling to retail customers.Educate patients and caregivers on proper medication use, dosing, administration, side effects, and adherence.Review and oversee medication orders for long-term care facilities.Verify blister packs/unit-dose packaging for accuracy, including medication, strength, dosage, quantity, labeling, and administration schedule.Monitor patient medication profiles for drug interactions, duplications, allergies, and other potential concerns.Communicate with physicians, nurses, caregivers, LTC facilities, and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and medication therapy.Resolve prescription discrepancies, refill requests, medication changes, and other medication-related concerns.Maintain accurate pharmacy records and protect patient confidentiality.Support day-to-day pharmacy operations, including inventory management, medication storage, and quality-control procedures.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited pharmacy program.Current, active New York State pharmacist license and registration.Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and medication safety.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.Previous retail, clinical, home health, community, or healthcare experience preferred.Experience with PrimeRx/Micro Merchant pharmacy software preferred.Salary: $65-$70/hr.
