Senior Job Cost Accountant

The Company A well established general contractor with over 50 years in business, working across agricultural, industrial, corporate, retail, and custom residential construction. Headcount of 50 plus. The Role This person will own job cost accounting for multiple active construction projects, working closely with the CFO, project managers, and project engineers. The role sits at the center of financial reporting and project cost tracking, using Procore and Sage Intacct as the core systems. Key Responsibilities Manage full cycle accounting across multiple concurrent construction projects Track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs in Procore, ensuring accurate job costing and billing Handle general ledger entries, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations in Sage Intacct Partner with project managers and engineers to keep job costs aligned with budgets, flagging and analyzing variances Produce weekly financial reports covering job costs, margins, and project performance Support month end close, reviewing and reconciling project and GL accounts Assist with project budgeting and profitability forecasting Support internal and external audits related to construction accounting and job costing Identify process improvements across Procore and Sage Intacct workflows What They\'re Looking For Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field 3+ years in construction accounting, with real job costing experience, not just general ledger work Hands on experience with Procore and Sage Intacct Strong Excel skills Comfortable communicating daily with project managers and leadership on financial status A candidate who can operate with more independence and seniority than a standard staff accountant Why This Role Diverse project mix, agricultural, industrial, commercial, and residential, keeps the work varied rather than repetitive Direct visibility with the CFO rather than being buried under layers of accounting management A stable, established company rather than an early stage or high turnover environment Hoxton Circle is an equal opportunity employer.
