Senior Diesel Service Advisor

Location: Columbus, OH, USA Shift: First shift Schedule: Full time; Wednesday-Friday and every other weekend 5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Job overview Act as the main liaison between Schneider drivers and diesel technicians as a Senior Diesel Service Advisor in Columbus, OH. Perform minor repairs and administrative duties that support the day-to-day operations of a shop. Responsibilities Retrieve truck fault codes to diagnose problems and make appropriate repair decisions. Perform general shop duties, such as answering phone calls, writing service requests, estimating repair times and performing some minor repairs. Maintain open lines of communication with drivers by providing status updates on repair decisions and wait times. Assist with inventory management by ensuring parts needed for a repair are in stock and submitting parts requests when they’re not. Skills and qualifications Technical degree in diesel technology or related field or minimum of 2 years of diesel service advisor experience. Computer systems and diagnostic software experience. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective written and verbal communication. Strong attention to detail. Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
