Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiovascular intensive care to join our team. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Details

• Start Date: 8/10
• Shift: 12-hour Night shifts
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Required on Memorial Day
• Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Float Requirements: May float to multiple locations within the region as needed

Experience Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiovascular ICU. Candidates will also be required to pass an EKG test.

License & Certification Requirements

• Active Illinois Nursing License
• CPR Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification

Core Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure
• Perform thermoregulation, CABG, and assist with management of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Impella devices
• Provide post-cardiac surgery care and management of patients pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention
• Monitor patients with pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz and manage valve replacements/repairs
• Administer CVVHD/CRRT and IV therapy including accessing ports, arterial line management, and supervision of central line care
• Manage continuous IV medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Oversee CVA/acute stroke management, lumbar drain procedures, and support with BiPAP and CPAP management
• Care for ventilated patients and perform infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Execute phlebotomy and manage surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular systems and critical care protocols
• Ability to perform ABG interpretation and ventilator management
• Proficient in suctioning techniques and management of ventilator-associated patients
• Expertise in infection control practices and effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
