Reporting to the Director of Safety & Training, this position supervises assigned operators, promotes safe and efficient service delivery, responds to operational issues, and provides coaching to improve employee performance. The Road Supervisor works collaboratively across the organization to support safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesField OperationsProvide daily field supervision and operational support to assigned operators.Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with operating procedures, schedules, and customer service expectations.Respond to service disruptions, accidents, emergencies, customer concerns, and other operational issues as assigned.Conduct field observations and ride checks to monitor operator performance and service quality.Serve as a resource to operators by providing guidance and assistance throughout daily operations.Employee Supervision And DevelopmentCoach operators to promote safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service.Monitor operator performance and provide timely feedback, coaching, and documentation.Assist with new operator training, behind-the-wheel instruction, and CDL development as assigned.Support the consistent application of organizational policies, procedures, and work rules.Recommend corrective action and recognition based on employee performance.Safety And Regulatory CompliancePromote compliance with all applicable organizational policies and transportation regulations.Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and customer complaints and prepare required documentation.Assist in identifying safety concerns and recommending corrective actions.Support implementation of safety initiatives and training programs.Maintain required operational and safety records.Administrative ResponsibilitiesReview and reconcile operator time records.Maintain attendance, performance, incident, and operational documentation.Prepare reports and documentation related to operational activities, investigations, and employee performance.Communicate operational concerns and recommendations to the Director of Safety & Training.Operational CollaborationWork collaboratively with Training Supervisors, Scheduling, Dispatch, Customer Service, Fleet Maintenance, and other departments to support efficient service delivery.Assist with special events, emergency operations, and service adjustments as assigned.Serve as a relief operator when operational needs require.Perform other related duties as assigned.RequirementsQualificationsRequired Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.Two (2) years of supervisory, lead, or transportation operations experience.Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.Driving record that meets Jaunt's insurance requirements.Preferred QualificationsExperience in public transit, passenger transportation, or another customer-focused service environment.Experience coaching or training employees.Knowledge of DOT, FTA, ADA, and CDL regulations.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge of transportation operations and the Jaunt service area.Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, passengers, and the public.Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations.Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.Ability to investigate incidents and prepare accurate reports.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.Why This Role MattersThe Road Supervisor plays an essential role in ensuring Jaunt's transportation services operate safely, efficiently, and professionally each day.
