Registered Nurse - Med/Surgical (4 East)

Overview Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 4 East Medical Surgical unit in Harrisonburg, VA. This position works the first‑day shift and is ideal for candidates experienced or interested in caring for surgical patients in a variety of specialties including General Surgery, Gastrointestinal, OB‑Gyn, Orthopedics, Vascular, Urology, Nephrology, and more. Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation assistance (subject to qualifying criteria) are available. Education Associate Degree – Nursing OR Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing. Certification / Licensure Registered Nurse license. Experience Previous acute care experience preferred. Duties / Responsibilities As an RN, you will provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation). You will demonstrate professional performance standards, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and resource utilization. Transition to Practice / Nurse Residency Program This 10‑week Transition to Practice (TTP) program offers structured orientation with knowledge support and skill acquisition in Medical‑Surgical areas. New graduates enter a comprehensive 6‑month residency that builds on the TTP foundation.
