Posting Summary Rutgers, State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Patient Care Technician in the Medical Services, Transmagnetic Stimulation Services – Brief Treatment (Edison). The Patient Care Technician is responsible for administering, monitoring, and scheduling Transmagnetic Stimulation (TMS) services, providing support for individuals served throughout treatment, and ensuring equipment safety and functionality. Key Responsibilities Under strict physician supervision, administer TMS services in accordance with established policies and procedures. Conduct pre‑treatment assessments to verify TMS therapy eligibility. Demonstrate competency in procedures within scope of practice. Explain TMS to individuals served and respond to inquiries related to the procedure. Monitor individuals served throughout sessions to ensure their safety and comfort. Job Requirements Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma required plus two (02) years of relevant experience in a health care setting. Prior completion of a TMS training program or completion of a UBHC‑sponsored onsite TMS training program within 30 days of hire required. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Have excellent interpersonal skills, compassion and empathy for others, comfort working with and providing support for different patient presentations, fast learner and an ability to think critically. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in a health care or related field. Previous experience in electromagnetic brain stimulation. Telephone, Xerox machine, computer usage proficiency. Salary and Compensation FLSA: Non‑exempt. Grade 178. Minimum Salary: 26,310.00 per annum. Mid Range Salary: 26,810.00 per annum. Maximum Salary: 27,610.00 per annum. Ability to speak clearly and write proficiently. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. May be exposed to agitated patients. Physical dexterity to position TMS equipment. May be expected to lift up to 25 lbs. Possible exposure to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens that require use of personal protective equipment. Moderate noise levels. Immunization Requirements If employment commences during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require proof of vaccination against seasonal influenza unless a medical or religious exemption is granted.
