Morning Hospitality and Coffee Captain, CAU Cornell University, Ithaca, NY – Full-time temporary position. Position Summary Temporary Morning Hospitality & Coffee Captain in the Alumni Affairs and Development division to support Cornell’s Adult University (CAU) 2‑week summer program. The role ensures coffee and snacks are ready for dorm residents and course participants, maintains a welcoming lounge, and prepares for daily service. Key Responsibilities Morning Setup & Service (6:00 AM – 7:00 AM): arrive early to set up the dorm lounge coffee and snack station, keep it fresh and organized, and provide a guest‑focused presence. Transition to Prep Space (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM): move to the 2nd‑floor prep space to make coffee and assemble snacks for the mid‑morning break. Load coffee break items into shuttle/delivery vans (8:00 AM – 8:30 AM): prepare items for delivery after participants are transported to classrooms. Coordinate with the Culinary Curator & Procurement Lead (8:30 AM – 9:00 AM) on shopping needs. Maintain lounge atmosphere & cleanliness (9:00 AM – 10:00 AM): vacuum, trash, wipe tables, and troubleshoot minor issues; report larger needs to the Guest Experience Coordinator. Qualifications No formal education required; comprehensive training provided. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Advocacy for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Inclusive, equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Morning person who thrives in a fast‑paced hospitality environment. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills. Friendly, engaging, and service‑mindful; able to create a warm environment. Able to lift and carry coffee supplies and push a cart for deliveries. Location & Compensation Fully on‑site at the Ithaca Cornell campus. Starting pay: $22.70 per hour.
