Role Description The Payroll Administrator is a part-time remote role responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing for university employees. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, entering and verifying employee data, assisting with pay calculations, and coordinating updates to employee compensation and benefits information. The role involves ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, handling garnishments as needed, and collaborating with HR and Accounting to resolve payroll inquiries. The Payroll Administrator will also prepare reports, support audits, and respond to employee questions in a professional and confidential manner.
Qualifications

Strong payroll administration skills, including experience with payroll systems and pay cycle management.
Knowledge of garnishments and payroll taxes, with the ability to apply relevant regulations accurately.
Understanding of employee benefits and how they integrate with payroll processing.
Foundational accounting skills to reconcile payroll data and support reporting.
Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with spreadsheets and payroll/HR software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Relevant experience in payroll or accounting; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
Alignment with ORU’s mission and values and willingness to support a faith-based educational environment.
