Physical Therapy Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

·        Assist patients with improving strength, balance, mobility, lessening pain, and improving ROM.

·        Implement treatment plans developed by supervising physical therapists.

·        Assist patients with functional mobility, transfers, gait training, and stair negotiation.

·        Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve endurance, coordination, and independence with daily activities.

·        Educate patients on safe mobility techniques, proper use of assistive devices, and fall-prevention strategies.

·        Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and changes in functional status.

·        Collaborate with the other team members to support patient safety, rehabilitation goals, and discharge planning to provide comprehensive care

·        Complete daily required documentation

Education and Qualifications:

·        Valid Pennsylvania state license

·        Associate degree in occupational therapy assistant program
