Details General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00) Every other weekend required Floating required when census warrants Epic charting system preferred Requirements Active NY RN license required in hand Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Minimum 1.5 years of recent ER experience required Fast-paced, high-acuity ER experience strongly preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients Experience with blood product administration and central line care Experience with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasopressors Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring Experience with CVA and isolation precautions Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG Epic charting experience strongly preferred Additional Information Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population Manage patients with psychiatric holds, suicidal ideation, and drug overdose presentations Apply and manage orthopedic splints as needed Scrubs must be any combination of navy and white Minimal RTO requests accepted Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate Previous staff may only return after a 6-month break system-wide First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-771481.
