Your Core Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic examinations, and crafting tailored treatment plans
• Diagnosing and addressing acute, chronic, or episodic conditions independently or in partnership with physicians, based on your credentials
• Providing education to patients and families regarding preventive care, wellness strategies, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies within your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic conditions
• Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless and comprehensive patient care
• Maintaining accurate and complete documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)

Necessary Education

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Essential Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in South Dakota
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a specialty equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
