Preschool Assistant Teacher

St. Mark's Episcopal School Oakland Park, FL United States REPORTS TO: Head of Lower School & Assistant Head of Lower School CLASSIFICATION: Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (in Early Childhood Education preferred) FUNCTION: Assist the lead teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating classroom instruction and student behaviors consistent with St. Mark’s mission and philosophy. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety and security of Preschool children. Demonstrate effective classroom management, assisting the lead teacher in utilizing learning centers or student workstations and differentiating and individualizing instruction and developing student behavior modification techniques. Maintain open and professional communication with parents. Be proficient in using classroom technology to assist the lead teacher as needed. Teach and ensure proper hygiene of PreK children. Accompany students to enrichment activities. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in professional development opportunities to learn and utilize tools and techniques that improve classroom effectiveness.
