Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Specialist, you will serve as the institutional expert in a major area of pharmacy practice, leading the planning, development, and implementation of advanced systems and services. You¿ll work independently to resolve complex issues, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor staff to elevate pharmacy practice standards. Your role is critical in driving research, education, and continuous improvement in patient care.

What You Will Do

• Lead the development and implementation of new or improved pharmacy systems and services in your specialty area.
• Serve as an institutional authority, providing expertise to resolve complex pharmacy-related challenges.
• Mentor and educate pharmacy staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in your specialty practice.
• Conduct applied research to address daily practice problems and contribute to the broader body of pharmaceutical knowledge.
• Collaborate with clinicians and other departments to effect positive change and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Completion of a residency training program or equivalent experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of pharmacist experience or equivalent training.
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed Level II pharmacist practice standards.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Proven leadership abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Record of research and publication in the field of pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with pharmacy students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• History of reliability, dependability, and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
