Inventory Specialist

Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the daily flow of medical supplies and equipment throughout the hospital. On a typical day, the individual will receive incoming shipments, unload prepackaged materials from delivery trucks, and verify inventory by comparing items against packing slips and bills of lading. They will inspect shipments for damage or shortages, update inventory information within the Materials Management system, and ensure supplies are accurately tracked and accounted for. The role also involves delivering materials to various departments and floors throughout the hospital using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies. The ideal candidate is comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs., working in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining accuracy while supporting inventory, receiving, and distribution operations under direct supervision.

Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves: • Ability to lift and move materials up to 70 lbs • Comfortable being on your feet and walking throughout a hospital environment • Ability to unload shipments and transport supplies to various departments • Comfortable using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies (or willingness to learn) • Strong attention to detail when counting and tracking inventory • Reliable, dependable, and able to follow directions in a team environment Plusses: • Previous hospital/healthcare inventory or supply chain experience • Experience using materials management systems
