The Job at a Glance The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) supports the Branch & Community Engagement Manager (BCM) with branch operations oversight, staff performance, and member service excellence. This role helps ensure the branch meets its financial, operational, and sales goals while maintaining compliance with policies and regulatory standards. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to team members, resolves member concerns, and ensures a smooth, efficient, and member-focused environment. The Assistant Branch Manager promotes CU1’s core values of Be Great, Be Engaged, Be Open, Be Nice. A Typical Day Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring cash handling, vault management, transaction processing, and branch security follow CU1 policies and procedures while adhering to regulatory requirements. Proactively lead, coach, and develop branch staff (tellers, relationship bankers, etc.), including scheduling, training, and supporting the Branch & Community Engagement Manager with hiring and performance reviews. Handle escalated member concerns, ensuring excellent service delivery, and supporting staff with complex member inquiries. Promote CU1 product adoption (loans, deposit accounts, services) by identifying sales opportunities; cross-sell and collaborate with branch staff to meet branch sales goals. Manage branch financial performance; monitor budget, control expenses, and contribute to meeting growth metrics (loan growth, share growth, product penetration). Prepare and analyze branch reports (sales, operations, performance metrics), conduct audits (e.g., cash drawer audits), and address quality control issues. Act as branch leader in the absence of the Branch & Community Engagement Manager — make decisions, manage staff, and ensure business continuity. Perform other duties as assigned and assist other employees as needed. Lead the branch teams by fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture. What We Look For Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and/or training. At least 2 years of relevant experience required, with a proven record of exceeding member expectations. Financial industry experience preferred.
