Bailey Lab Research Specialist

Job Summary The Bailey Lab is looking for a research specialist to work on novel mechanisms of viral persistence. This will involve learning techniques in virology and immunology. Competitive applicants will have a track record of working with rodent models. Key Job Responsibilities Operate, clean, and maintain organization of research equipment and research area. Track inventory levels and place replenishment orders. Participate in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials. Conduct research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact on the project(s). Collect data and monitor test results. Perform literature reviews and write reports. Review, analyze, and interpret data and/or document results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences. Required Qualifications Must be comfortable handling live rodents and performing experimental procedures on rodents. Must have steady hands. Must be organized and detail oriented. Must be open minded to learning new skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous rodent handling experience. Prior laboratory experience. Education Bachelor's Degree preferred; focus in biomedical fields preferred. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary for the position is $44,543 annually; negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
