We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a client in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a solid command of general ledger processes, and the ability to work effectively in a detail-driven setting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing, reviewing, and finalizing financial data within established reporting timelines.

• Record and post journal entries with accuracy while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and properly maintained.

• Oversee general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies to preserve the integrity of financial reporting.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely and organized manner.

• Complete bank reconciliations by comparing account activity, identifying exceptions, and following through on outstanding items.

• Prepare financial schedules and supporting reports to assist with internal review and audit readiness.

• Collaborate with finance and administrative stakeholders to clarify transactions and improve accounting accuracy.

• Monitor accounting records for compliance with established policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

• Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting roles with responsibility for complex financial processes.
• Strong background in month-end close, including preparation of entries, reconciliations, and reporting support.
• Hands-on knowledge of general ledger accounting and the ability to maintain accurate account balances.
• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high degree of precision and consistency.
• Experience completing account reconciliations and researching variances independently.
• Proficiency in bank reconciliation processes and resolving unmatched transactions efficiently.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a deadline-oriented environment.
