Employment Law and Litigation Attorney

SEI is seeking an Employment Law and Litigation Attorney to join the Legal, Compliance, Risk & Corporate Development (LCRCD) department. This position is ideal for an early career attorney looking to expand their experience across employment counseling, compliance, and litigation matters in an innovative, collaborative environment. The Attorney will work closely with members of the LCRCD department, the People & Culture (HR) department, and numerous business unit teams. They will help to ensure that SEI and its subsidiaries adhere to relevant employment laws and support litigation matters when they arise. The role will focus on U.S. responsibilities while also assisting with matters across our global footprint. The Attorney will report to the lead attorney on the Legal Risk Management team, responsible for the global employment law function, litigation matters and corporate insurance services. This role is hybrid and requires three days onsite in our Oaks, PA headquarters.What you will do:Employment Law Counseling and ComplianceProvide legal guidance to HR on a wide range of employment topics, including hiring, pay practices, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodation requests, and separationsDraft and update employment-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and alignment with business needsSupport internal investigations involving claims of workplace misconduct, and provide guidance on employee relations issuesMonitor and research U.S. and global developments affecting workforce practices, and recommend and help implement consistencies among offices in line with best practicesAssist the People & Culture team with workforce-related regulatory filings and required employee noticesCollaborate with client teams in the review, design and implementation of relevant training programs and guidelines designed to mitigate riskAssist in drafting, reviewing, and updating employment-related agreements and provisions in third party agreements, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and settlement agreementsHelp develop templates, playbooks and process improvements to enhance LCRCD department efficiencyContribute to ad hoc project work including M&A and global office expansion initiativesLitigation and Dispute ManagementAssist in responding to internal complaints, threatened claims, investigations, subpoenas, and agency charges and inquiriesSupport the management of employment and other litigation matters and pre-litigation disputes, including fact development, document preservation and production, and coordination with witnesses and outside counselHelp prepare internal reports, litigation summaries, and risk assessments for senior legal and business stakeholdersParticipate in strategy discussions with outside counsel and internal teams to ensure efficient, business-aligned dispute resolution and risk mitigationWhat we need from you:Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and current Pennsylvania bar admissionThree to five years of relevant experience in employment law and litigation from a law firm and/or corporate legal departmentStrong understanding of federal and state labor and employment laws and best practices; experience with employment matters in other jurisdictions is helpful but not requiredExperience advising on a range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation concerns, performance issues, leaves of absence and accommodations, pay practices, and employment policiesAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and work independently with appropriate supervisionStrong communication, relationship and organizational skillsComfort with a dynamic, often-changing and fast-paced environmentExcellent research, analytical and technical skills, including the use of AI toolsHigh integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem solvingSEI’s competitive advantage:To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including comprehensive care for your physical and mental well-being, a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, support for working parents and flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
