Location : Westbrook, ME - 04092

Duration: 3+ months

Schedule: 40 hours, M-F, 9-5:30 working hours, with 30 minute unpaid lunch (No overtime needed)

Pay Range: $25 - $28/hr

Performs regular monthly accounts receivable tasks. Provides accounting guidance and support and serves as liaison to other areas of finance and other internal/external customers

Roles and Responsibilies:

• Analyzes account balances, investigates unusual items, determines necessary adjustments and completes reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Assists internal and external audit personnel as needed.
• Reviews and posts journal entries. Investigates and resolves any issues identified through research of accounting documents and follows up with others as needed.
• Coordinates with other accounting, finance and other areas to analyze questions and determine resolution. Provides accounting guidance and assistance as needed.
• Posts, reviews and reconciles cross-border charges and transactions as needed. Provides summaries, supporting documentation and other information as required. Consults, interprets and applies accounting policies and procedures involved in cross-border transactions.
• Participates in general ledger functions including maintaining recurring journal entries, setting up cost centers, setting up general ledger accounts, opening/closing accounting periods, running assessments and other activities.
• Provides financial/accounting systems training/user guides as needed.
• Performs variety of accounting and financial updates and changes. Performs calculations, reviews postings and other information for accuracy, processes changes, identifies, researches and resolves issues and other related activities.
• Participates in preparation of ongoing internal and external financial reporting.

Education:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Required Skill:

• Understanding of applicable accounting rules and regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skill
• Good communication skill both written and verbal
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong computer skill including knowledge of Excel
• Experience with general ledger module of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, SAP preferred.

Physical Demand:

• Extensive sitting, phone and computer use.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• May be required to lift, move and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Hearing acuity sufficient to effectively communicate with customers and Employees via telephone and in person.
• Ability to communicate verbally on phone and in person.
• Fluency in the English language.
• Overtime during closing periods is required.
• Some travel may be required.
