Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support aircraft electrical systems, certification, testing, and design activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with aerospace electrical engineering, aircraft certification/substantiation, and design tools such as AutoCAD or DraftSight.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical test plans, checklists, and inspection plans.
• Prepare substantiation reports, test plans, and test reports related to aircraft cabin safety.
• Support small STC/PMA projects involving electrical requirements and technical data deliverables.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain required technical data and resolve engineering inquiries, significant issues, and airworthiness concerns.
• Identify major design changes that may impact aircraft electrical systems.
• Support coordination with certification and regulatory organizations.
• Interface with airline customers during troubleshooting activities at flight-test facilities, test laboratories, and engineering jigs.
• Prepare technical presentations and documentation for engineering and project meetings.
• Support aircraft electrical design, certification, and compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering , or a related scientific/engineering discipline.
• Approximately 4 7 years of engineering experience ; relevant internship and co-op experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of aircraft engineering processes and substantiation techniques for Airbus and Boeing aircraft .
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with aircraft mechanical and structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods, and aerospace hardware.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight .
• Electrical engineering/design experience in an aerospace or aircraft environment.
• Understanding of engineering documentation, testing, and technical reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of aircraft interiors .
• Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or Substantiation Engineer .
• Working knowledge of FAR regulations and aircraft certification processes.
• Experience with STC/PMA projects and aircraft certification documentation.
• Familiarity with DER coordination and airworthiness requirements.
