What You'll Do

• Float across Oncology and Medical-Surgical units as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care
• Provide patient assessments, administer medications, and manage complex treatments including oncology protocols
• Monitor cardiac rhythms utilizing telemetry, interpret ABGs, and respond to emergencies
• Support safe care in a secure corrections environment, adhering to all safety protocols
• Document patient information accurately in EPIC system
• Coordinate patient care regarding specialized treatments like IV therapy, feeding tubes, dialysis, and respiratory support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient support

What You Need

• Current Ohio RN license
• BLS certification required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; EPIC charting experience essential
• Minimum 1+ year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry experience
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills

About the Assignment

This position is based in a corrections unit operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, serving adult inmates. The unit is locked with secured access, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 on PCU and 1:4-5 on MS units, providing care for patients with active oncology diagnoses, recent surgical histories, and other complex conditions. Shifts may include weekends and rotating schedules, offering flexibility within a structured environment.
