The School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for a 12‑month faculty role that goes beyond traditional teaching, supporting students in our Associate in Science (A.S.N) degree program. In this dynamic position, you’ll serve as a clinical expert and professional role model, providing direct supervision, mentorship, and skill‑building support to nursing students in acute and long‑term care settings. Instructional Workload The Clinical Nurse Educator is a 12‑month faculty position within the School of Nursing, responsible for direct supervision and clinical instruction of nursing students in health care settings. Average of 30 hours a week in clinicals and 10 hours supporting nursing labs and performing other tasks The Clinical Nurse Educator’s role is subject to annual renewal, with specific duties and time commitments varying based on operational needs, clinical site demands, accreditation requirements, and institutional resources. The length of the contract is in accordance with the academic calendar. Position Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. This position only requires a BSN. Must have current, active, and unencumbered licensure in the State of Florida as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, or the ability to obtain one by the start date of August 18, 2026. Minimum of 3 years of hospital experience or clinical experience in an educational setting as a Registered Nurse or ARNP. Please note that you will need to establish and maintain Florida residency within 30 days from your start date if selected for this position. Salary Information This position qualifies for a Valencia College Pay Additive of $10,000 to be paid in biweekly installments in addition to the annual salary. Salary is determined based on relevant work experience and the highest degree earned. The salary ranges for each degree level are outlined below: BACHELORS $57,733 – $71,669 Per Year MASTERS $62,753 – $77,900 Per Year MASTERS + 30 $67,772 – $84,131 Per Year DOCTORATE $70,284 – $87,249 Per Year Our Process Application collection begins: January 2026 This position is Open until Filled. Salary Range Salary is determined by highest earned degree based on Valencia College’s Salary Schedule: Essential Job Functions Serves as a clinical role model and mentor for nursing students in assigned healthcare settings. Supervises students’ delivery of nursing care at the bedside, ensuring safe, ethical, and evidence‑based practices. Evaluates students’ clinical performance and maintains accurate and timely documentation of evaluations. Provides ongoing feedback, guidance, and counseling to students regarding their clinical progress. Collaborates with faculty and administration to develop and coordinate meaningful clinical learning experiences, such as simulation integration or specialty rotations. Selects appropriate clients and clinical cases to support student learning and skill development, while maintaining and ensuring quality patient care. Fosters and maintains strong relationships with clinical agency partners, acting as a liaison between the academic program and healthcare facilities. Participates in faculty and departmental meetings, trainings, and program development initiatives as needed.   6. Strong clinical judgment and problem‑solving skills to support safe, effective patient care and student learning.
  7. Ability to engage in physically demanding clinical work, including prolonged activity, assisting with patient mobility, and performing hands‑on procedures requiring visual acuity, fine motor skills, and sensory responsiveness.
Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in clinical and hospital environments, with some responsibilities carried out in laboratory settings. The employee will routinely use standard medical equipment, including but not limited to patient monitors, infusion pumps, and ECG machines. They may also occasionally use lab‑and office‑related equipment such as microscopes, diagnostic tools, computers, keyboards, a mouse, phones, and other instructional technologies. The role may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials typically encountered in healthcare settings. While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may have moderate to high noise levels, particularly in areas with active patient monitoring equipment or during clinical activities. Typical physical competencies include, but are not limited to, frequently standing and walking while supervising nursing students, assisting with patient care, and demonstrating clinical techniques. Sitting may occur occasionally during documentation, evaluations, or meetings. The employee may occasionally need to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch when assisting students or retrieving items from lower areas. They may also need to lift or carry items up to 20-30 pounds, such as medical equipment or supplies, as well as assist with patient care and movement. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects at close and distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include, but are not limited to, frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, comprehension, problem solving, and decision‑making. A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability is required on a regular basis. The typical work environment, physical, and cognitive demands listed above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
