Job Summary
We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant, Buyer/Planner to join our team! In this position you will be working across multiple departments to determine all material needs, place orders, and assist in finding the tools they need to do their jobs. You will  be assisting in Production Department, Shipping receiving department, following up on supply requests, and monitoring inventory levels of all the components . The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed, and an understanding of supply chain procedures. The candidate needs to be able to navigate ERP / MRP software to place orders with suppliers. Also follow up on the orders, ensure correct pricing, be aware of the lead times and be able to find alternate suppliers if needed

Responsibilities 

• Monitor Inventory levels and order components / materials to support production
• Place orders, follow up on delays, and maintain strong working relationships with vendors
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering an appropriate amount of product before it is at critical levels
• Evaluate offers from multiple vendors, determining the best place to order based on price and quality, conducting research as necessary to find an appropriate supplier
• Manage vendor contracts, as needed
• Perform Suppler Evaluation
• Run Material Shortage Reports in additional to other needed reports to support Production and Inventory
• Additional responsibilities will get added as everyone in the organization wears multiple hats to get the job done

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar position
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the supply chain, and common issues surrounding it
• The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed
