Travel Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med/Surg to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to make a difference in patient care within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg setting.
Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Engage in patient and family education to promote healthier outcomes.
Participate in additional tasks as required by the unit and management.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Neuro specialty preferred.
Knowledge and competency in dysrhythmia management.
Current certifications in NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with diverse populations.
Must be available for holiday shifts as part of the schedule.

Unit Information

Type of patients: Adult patients with a variety of medical conditions including CVA, TIA, and common respiratory issues.
Typical patient-to-nurse ratio: 5:1 to 6:1.
Unit features: 22-bed capacity with advanced monitoring and treatment equipment.
Utilizes EPIC for electronic health record management.

Work Schedule

Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
Weekend commitment: 2 of 4 weekends per schedule or 4 of the 8 weekend shifts. Options for straight weekend shifts available.

Dress Code

Scrub color: Any.
Unacceptable attire includes hoodies, T-shirts with wording or pictures, and facial piercings.
