Plasma Processing Technician

The Opportunity Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping and storage of plasma collected from donors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager. The Role In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality. Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, including identification of unsuitable units and samples. Verify accuracy of unit labeling by confirming pre‑printed labels match dynamic labels. Use sterile technique to draw samples and heat seal to maintain sterility and quality of plasma unit samples per SOPs. Pack and ship samples and units in accordance with SOPs and center procedures; prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation. Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures, immediately inform appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly, and record variances. Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs. Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs. Understand policies and procedures associated with hyperimmune programs at the center if applicable. Maintain a clean, efficient work environment; ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed; follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety‑and‑Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures; promote safety in all actions. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information. May be cross‑trained in other areas to meet business needs. May be required to use bilingual skills, at the discretion of the organization. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Your Skills And Experience Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of three (3) months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Perform basic math calculations. Working Conditions (Physical & mental requirements) Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions. Follow basic instructions and guidelines. See and speak with customers and observe equipment operation. Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time. Reach, bend, kneel, and have high level of manual dexterity. Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood‑borne pathogens. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment when performing specific tasks or in certain areas. Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
