Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

Description: Cross posting for job ID# 3339043. RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Required Skills/Certs/Exp:

• Minimum years of experience: 2 years experience required.
• Traveler experience: Unit will not accept 1st time travelers.
• Skills: Vents, IV start, neuro intensive care unit, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, care of ventilated patient, isolation precautions/use of PPE, lumbar drain experience.
• Strong neuro experience, must be 2 years, no less.
• Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIH

Preferred Skills/Certs/Exp:

• Skills: Arterial line management

Job Details:

• Ratios: Ratios 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average daily census 11-12.
• Shift: 36 hours can be offered.
• Unit will accept 13 weeks!
• 12 hour nights; 18:45 - 07:15.
• Call requirement: none.
• Float requirement: yes.
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend.

Patient Diagnoses:

We are a comprehensive stroke center. Patient population: strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis. Drains used: EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring).

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

Comprehensive stroke center.

Special Equipment: EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM and Arctic Sun.

Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.

Scheduling Type: Per the unit needs.

Unit Orientation: 24.0 hours; 2 days or 2 nights.

Scrubs: Navy blue & white.

Internal Notes:

Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

Must have 2 years in neuro ICU, if not, please redirect.

Strong neuro critical care background, not just general ICU. If they do not have, please do not send!
