Associate Director - Business Analyst

Job DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? We are looking for a talented individual to work as a business analyst within the Funding, Treasury and Liquidity (FTL) Apex Application Development team. More specifically, the role will support the Central Funding Group which executes secured funding (repo and security lending business). The successful candidate will be responsible for business analysis and outcomes for testing within the technical development team using agile methodology. Key stakeholders with a business need are the front office trading teams, collateral management, operational support teams and other technical teams within Quant & Tech Services (QTS). The primary application in use in the global repo and securities lending business is Apex – an external vendor product. This opportunity will provide an opportunity to interact with senior stakeholders within the business and supporting functions and the technology teams across the organization.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Collaborate with global stakeholders to create and document business requirements for tactical and strategic changes.Coordinate with development and QA through the software development and release cycleCommunicate with the team and stakeholders from requirement inception through to code deliveryContinuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.Work in a collaborative team environment supporting production queries impacting the application and user processes.Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must have: Relevant experience as a business analyst, with in-depth knowledge of Capital Markets front to back trade processing flows, understanding of Capital Markets instruments including Fixed Income, Equities & Equity DerivativesDemonstrable technical capability to use tools to query databases, identify message structures, and troubleshoot data flow issues in production environmentsCapability to learn about new tools including AI tools to create documents, requirements and test scenariosStrong analytical skills for data analysis and lineage, and problem solvingExpert in writing requirements and associated test casesExcellent oral and written communicationDeadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneouslyNice-to-have: Experience with repo or securities lending trading processes or collateral managementClear understanding of Market and Reference data (Securities & Pricing)Proficient in drawing business process flow proven through recent project experienceDegree-level education in computer science, business or science subjectCFA or Canadian Securities Course or CBAP CertificationWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
