Collaborates with nutr. guest reps, nurses and medical providers and SLP to identify patients needing an assessment or re-assessment. Prioritizes patients for the shift and documents assessment notes. Assesses patients appropriately using the Nutrition Care Process, using information from EMR, daily meal rounds, patient and family, physicians, nurses and other clinical providers. Provides accurate, evidence‑based assessments and ADIME documentation. Calculates nutrition values per N&FS department policies. Completes documentation of assessment and recommendations using the appropriate templates in EMR. Ensures documentation is appropriate, timely and accurate. Effectively communicates departmental, organizational and industry information to coworkers and other clinical staff. Delivers clear, timely communication and resolves conflicts. Provides in‑service education to RD staff or other facility employees/students as requested by CNM. Provides written requests to CNM in a timely manner. Proactively resolves patient problems and supports operational excellence. Refers policy questions to CNM or N&FS managers. Initiates research of scientific literature to update educational handouts, policies, procedures, standards of practice or guidelines. Maintains registration with CDR, Massachusetts license and approved professional portfolio. Attends lectures, seminars and reviews professional journals promptly. Participates actively in department and hospital meetings. Communicates committee information to CNM and coworkers. Provides community educational fairs and presentations. Develops agendas and handouts in advance. Uses PowerPoint or other professional tools. Embraces technology and electronic tools for work processes and improvement of efficiency. Utilizes computer for literature searches and Outlook for internal communication. Provides outpatient counseling for GDM Clinic, coordinates activities to support hospital fiscal accountability, and acts as provider for medical insurance as needed. Manages administrative duties, documents notes, processes patient billing, maximizes appointments and participates in performance improvement planning with CNM. Performs work of variety of skill levels and responsibilities as directed; may also be required to perform work of a higher level in preparation for increased responsibility or a lower level when workload requires. Qualifications Minimum Education : Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Nutrition from a CDR/A.N.D. approved program; completed Dietetic Internship from a CDR accredited program. Exam : Passed RD exam or eligible to take RD exam. Licensure : Massachusetts licensure or licensure eligible; LDN or LDN Eligible; RD or RD Eligible. Experience : Up to six (6) months to become fully proficient preferred. Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; typing ability.
