Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Family Law Attorney at McKinnon Law Firm, located in Carlsbad, CA. The attorney will handle a range of family law cases, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, support matters, and domestic violence cases. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents such as motions, briefs, discovery, points and authorities, as well as appearing for motions, ex parte hearings, Evidentiary hearings, conducting depositions and discovery motions, and providing in-depth legal analysis on complex family law issues. The role also involves client consultations, court appearances, and providing strategic legal advice to help navigate sensitive family law cases.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Family Law and general legal principles
• Proficiency in handling motions and legal filings
• Experience conducting and managing discovery and deadlines
• Ability to analyze and advise on a variety of legal issues
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong negotiation and client advocacy abilities
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and member in good standing of the California State Bar
• Prior experience in family law practice is highly preferred
