Vice President of Artistic Planning

Utah Symphony Utah Opera (USUO) is seeking a visionary Vice President of Artistic Planning to support its strategic goal of audience development. This role involves collaborating with the Music Director Designate and engaging with the community to create innovative programming that resonates with Utah's diverse audiences. The VP will oversee artistic budgeting and program development for the season, including the Deer Valley Music Festival and various special performances.The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging programs that align with USUO's mission and strategic plan. This includes working with community partners, managing the annual orchestra season calendar, and coordinating with various departments to ensure successful execution of artistic plans. The VP will also be expected to stay informed about emerging artistic talent and repertoire, making recommendations for performances that excite both internal and external stakeholders.Additionally, the VP will manage guest artist contracts and collaborate with the Opera Artistic Director to ensure cohesive programming across the organization. This position requires a deep knowledge of orchestral repertoire, a minimum of six years of relevant experience, and the ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The VP will also oversee the Artistic Planning Manager and other staff, ensuring that all artistic initiatives are executed successfully.
