Systems Engineer Level 3

Salary: $114,000 - 171,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in a STEM field plus 5+ years of engineering experience, or a masters degree plus 3 years, or a PhD plus 1 year
• Active SCI at the time of application and before the start date, or active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain SCI
• Experience developing and assessing behavioral and structural architecture diagrams using MBSE tools or similar methods
• Experience with No Magic Cameo or an equivalent toolset
• Background in space vehicle, command-and-control, mission management, mission data processing, or software subsystem work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through requirements, test, and evaluation criteria documentation
• Experience developing systems engineering artifacts in support of software development, including use cases, interface control documents, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, database design, schema development, and software protocols such as REST, and RESP or equivalent
• Experience working on Agile programs and using Agile methodologies
• Preferred experience with command-and-control, network management, flight dynamics, and/or orbit determination for space-vehicle software systems
• Preferred experience with space vehicle subsystems such as thermal, power, attitude control, propulsion, and/or communications
• Preferred familiarity with cloud-based architectures such as Kubernetes, containers, and orchestrators
• Preferred experience working mission-focused threads
• Preferred experience with the software development lifecycle
• Preferred experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Preferred experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Preferred experience with automated test and integration frameworks, including Playwright
• Preferred active SCI at the time of application and before the start date

• Drive the development and execution of features for the satellite ground systems domain, including interpreting CAMEO and MBSE models
• Take part in working groups, investigate customer needs and interfaces, and convert them into digital artifacts that support software implementation
• Support or lead verification planning, test requirements, and related key deliverables
• Contribute across systems engineering activities and outputs, including requirements and verification, interfaces, architecture and design, integration, testing, and sell-off
• Join sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews while staying aligned with product vision and mission goals
• Provide subject matter expertise in space vehicle command-and-control systems and partner with other teams and unit-level engineers supporting subsystems
• Run demos and briefings for customers and senior leadership
• Help ensure smooth integration of capabilities, epics, and features within ground satellite software solutions
• Use the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira dashboards and Confluence knowledge bases
• Support or lead preparation for and execution of milestones and Agile product increments
• Participate in multiple working groups and control boards
• Carry out additional responsibilities as needed based on the selected candidates skills and background
